What is Systemic Corporal Reeducation
We are in a moment of humanity where all the trends indicate the importance of the holistic vision; understand that the whole is a result of its parts and that they correspond in a systemic way, The interrelation of systems principles such as self-similarity or the theory of fractals or the golden ratio; they refer us to the systemic behavior of matter and especially biology.
We are a tiny bit of the universe, our biology responds from the micro cell to the macro, either from a system or a tissue to the most macro of the entire body, and the impact is from the macro to the micro as well. For example, a situation of stress modifies the histology of our tissue through chemical modifications in our cells, generating infinite possibilities, including a lot of muscle tension and retractions, which in turn can generate other ailments and complications. This trend is valid in the field of medicine; nutrition, psychology, among others, under this evolutionary perspective, Systemic Corporal Reeducation “The Evolution of The Therapeutic Movement” was born.
Reeducate the body... Why?
Our body is a perfect engineering machine commanded by a wonderful computer: The Nervous System, it is silently in charge of all the vital and locomotor functions of the body, it is governed by three immovable rules that guarantee the survival of the species: Balance, economy and comfort that ensure the three vital functions of the species: breathing, nutrition and reproduction .
But... What really is Balance? The first law what this computer really cares about is guaranteeing homeostasis, the ability to maintain the balance of vital functions such as breathing and nutrition. Under this law, our body resolves many adaptations on a daily basis. Economy: In turn, the 2nd law resolves that to guarantee homeostasis, that is, life, it has to be of low or almost zero energy cost eg: Breathing cannot mean something for our body that requires a lot of energy expenditure. Comfort: Minute by minute our nervous system guarantees balance in an economical way, but this is almost imperceptible since it is carried out under this third rule that guarantees that these functions are comfortable, which is why it resolves adaptations through myofascial retractions that, although they may be comfortable At first, then they can lead to symptoms and later to pathologies.
But why? Our Nervous System has great highways through which it sends information to the rest of our body; these highways are the fascias or the Myofascial chains; the fascias are what give our body its shape, separates, protects, transmits information between the various systems, a more than important component of the reciprocal tension system, this system responds to the principle of Tensegrity; well known in the framework of architecture; and present in cells; This principle is responsible for keeping the structures in balance. In our body, this balance is ordered by the nervous system, which uses the myofascial chains as ropes to tighten, this tension is generated by neurological motor engrams of contracture and/or retractions of the fasciae, generating adhesions in the fascial system that systemically lead Due to the lack of freedom of movement, mainly of the liquids that guarantee life: blood, cerebrospinal fluid, and lymph, these engrams are designed to maintain the functions of BREATHING, NUTRITION, and REPRODUCTION, with the sole objective of survival of the species! The reason is that the locomotor system suffers a large part of the consequences since it lacks updating, these engrams are known as primary retraction motor engrams and they are the most complex to reeducate, then we have the secondary retraction patterns, these are given by gestures repetitive whether they are work sports or recreational activities and are more sim Pleas to reeducate.
Andrés had hepatitis as a child, so the nervous system decides based on the affected organ and the internal pressures that it requests that space must be generated for said organ, therefore it sends the order to the system of reciprocal tensions that adapts according to the pressure exerted by the organ in question. This is resolved with a diastasis of the abdominal fascia and a retraction of the thoracolumbar fascia, and a quadratus lumborum in contracture that opposes an internal oblique and transversus inhibition; Now it turns out that Juan's hepatitis is gone and this was 20 years ago; However, every time he makes an effort, his area under tension is his lumbar spine, which also generated a lumbar hyperlordosis, therefore the alteration of this structure modifies more than one of its functions and if, for example, if he eats abundantly, his intra -abdominals increase and his lumbar reflex also occasionally refers to knee pain!!! Now, what do you think happened? Is your hepatitis related to your current knee and lumbar pain?... Once the information is Sent through our connective tissue so that our cords tighten, this retraction generates a kind of knot in our fascial system that loses fluid and increases the collagen fibers that generate a dense and poorly proprioceptive tissue, a contracture motor engram is also available in our neuromuscular system responsible for the area involved therefore over time this retraction is accentuated generating in Juan lumbar ailments on the one hand and tensions in his lower limb, more precisely in his knee, if Juan is also an athlete and/or regularly plays soccer; or remains in a repetitive motor gesture for more than 4 hours, these retractions are increased!! to the point of generating a possible pathology of the lumbar spine/hip or knee.
How do I untie this knot in my body? How do I recognize it?
Systemic Corporal Reeducation recognizes through the postural typography of the person where those knots are located in their cords or more precisely in their Myofascial chains, releasing those retractions, for this it uses the physical laws that go through the physical properties of both fascial and neuromuscular tissues. , allowing the nervous system to return to its correct structure to the system of reciprocal tensions, generating their correct functioning; releasing myofascial retractions is leading to freedom of movement. This is reflected in athletes with fewer injuries and more achievements, notably improving the performance of their sports gesture; in greater well-being in people with pathologies or non-pathological ailments, notably improving their quality of life.
Currently the method has incredible results, pure work protocols for pain reduction by activating the body's natural analgesia mechanisms and postural reorganization, many of them later adapted to the Pilates method, but it is being taken to the area of functional training, spherodynamics, among other techniques. .
People with cervical ailments; lumbar pathologies of the lower and upper limb and athletes have testified to its benefits. These exercises guarantee not only Myofascial release; if not, they enable body awareness by improving the body's proprioceptive capacity. Projects are being developed to bring these principles to the school framework of physical education as a prophylaxis of injuries in children.
